About the Project

SeaReady was engaged by Rio Tinto to complete a comprehensive dry docking and refit of Oita, a 33-metre ASD tug operating in Dampier as part of the Rio Tinto towage and line boat fleet. Built in 2010, Oita is a Robert Allan-designed RAmpart 32 vessel powered by twin Niigata main engines and capable of delivering 65 tonnes of bollard pull.

The project focused on achieving Oita‘s 15-year class survey while extending vessel longevity, improving operational efficiency, and optimising hull and engine performance. SeaReady was selected for its proven capability, strong project management, and long-standing relationship with the Rio Tinto fleet.
