Simon Dickins - A Sailing CV

Simon has been an avid sailor since the age of 12. Starting out in cadet dinghies, he has sailed and raced skiffs, catamarans, and keelboats. He currently races out of Hobson’s Bay, Melbourne in his 8.5M Adams “Uncle Fester”. His daughter, now an adult, still joins him in club two-hander racing.

In addition to Club racing, Simon is a keen ocean racer, with over 20,000 miles of ocean racing behind him, including nine Melbourne to Hobart Westcoasters, a grueling 480NM event down the rugged west coat of Tasmania.

In his working life, Simon has operated his own businesses as both a charter boat operator and ship’s chandler. He holds a Victorian Coxswains certificate with a 200NM Fore and Aft (Sailing) endorsement, an Australian Radio Operators Licence, and is L11 First-aid qualified.
