Frequently Asked Questions
- How long has Sea Ready been in operation?
- Sea ready has been in operation for four years
- Are the Sea Ready personnel adequately qualified?
- Yes. Skippers are commercially qualified together with ancillary qualifications – radio, first-aide, fore & aft endorsed etc.
- Will Sea Ready insure my boat?
- No. Only the Owner can insure the boat.
- Will my insurance company cover me if Sea Ready has an accident?
- Yes, providing you fully disclose your plans for the boat with your Insurance Company.
- How long will the trip take?
- Impossible to give an exact answer, but 100 to 120 nautical miles a day is a good guide.
- How much will it cost?
- Depending on the route, time of year etc, delivery by sea can be very economical. We are happy to provide a distance-based estimate for prospective boat-owners.
- Can I, my friends, and Family come along?
- Yes, within reason. Large numbers are not acceptable however, nor are children or persons with certain disabilities. The final decision rests with the delivery Skipper.
- Can Sea Ready deliver any sort of boat?
- Technically yes, however we are disinclined to accept petrol driven powerboats, ferro-cement boats, or boats which, due to their age, size, or condition, are not considered suitable for the proposed journey.
- Can I get a firm quote?
- Yes you can, however we will not provide a firm quote until you have purchased the vessel. We understand the need to factor in delivery costs when considering a purchase, but the lack of accurate information and other uncertainties prior to purchase prohibit a binding quote. We are, however, happy to provide you with an estimate you can use to work out an all-up cost for the boat delivered to its new home port.
